Kwesta is seriously considering taking legal action against an international car brand, BMW after they released an impressive advert that has captured Mzansi.
The only problem with the advertisement is that it sampled Kwesta’s hit song ‘Spirit’ which features an American rapper, Wale who is affiliated with Rick Ross, both of which he’s done some records with.
Netizens were all excited after learning about the advert and some even went on ahead to congratulate the ‘Ngud’ hitmaker without knowing that the song was sampled without the exclusive consent from Kwesta.
“Had to school myself and get expert opinion and backing first.” Kwesta wrote on social media. “Si down stairs bafwethu!!! Sivaya ngama ‘grootman’ abhaya,”
This #HeritageMonth, we celebrate the life of the iconic #Gusheshe, the ‘Grootman’ of BMW that will always be a mark of inspiration in Mzansi. #TheLegacyLivesOn with the new #BMW330isEdition. Iyeza. #BMW325is pic.twitter.com/BwcUfIpjQn

Taking to social media, on his official Twitter account, Kwesta tagged the South African BMW’s headquarter and asked them to do the right thing for the grootmans.
“Do the right thing!!! It took so much effort from so many people to get the rights to sample that song. We did the right thing because we understood the value of the art! This ad cheapens all of those efforts. DO THE RIGHT THING FOR ‘The Grootmans’ BMW South Africa” he wrote on Twitter
