how Cassper Nyovest changed the rap game with his Kwaito album, ‘Sweet and Short’ 96

Cassper Nyovest has without any shadow of doubt helped the South African hip hop industry achieve international dominance and status together other artistes of course but he is the one who pushed the hip hop industry in the next level, international-wise. I mean he has managed to do some cool and amazing stuff that were not even imaginable before in the rap and the hip hop scene before he did them,

Cassper Nyovest has filled stadiums consistently because of hip hop music which is still an African hip hop phenomena to this day, and he did it with such class and mastery, he had and still has unique stages like the floating stage he had at Fill Up the Dome a few years ago which was so unique in its own way as such stage was never seen before in Africa prior to his performance at the Fill Up the Dome.

Cassper Nyovest alleged at the Breakfast Club in New York that Kanye West jacked the floating stage idea from him on the Saint Pablo Tour, which most people are in agreement with because Mufasa was the first rapper on a floating stage.

It seems when it comes to Cassper Nyovest, everybody in the world, are keen looking at him anticipating his moves that he is successfully making in the music industry, music business and his personal life because everything he does at this point of his career is great if not phenomenal to an extent. Every move he makes is calculated to help him achieve his goal and that’s to be the great of the greatest who ever did it in the industry and Julius Malema agreed on that fact.

That being said, Cassper Nyovest also made history by becoming the first South African mainstream rapper to have released an exclusive Kwaito album that went platinum in the same day it was officially released. Eish! talk of ultimate greatness

The award-winning, successful rapper from Mahikeng released his first album ‘Tsholofelo’ back on 18th July 2014 which was successful as he came with a force to reckon with like none other in the rap game at that time and,  made a statement with that album as a serious rapper people should know about, respect and look up to in the rap game.

In hindsight, Cassper has really come a long way by overcoming a lot of trials and tribulations to become the person he is today; a person respected both in the  rap game and in the business arena in equal measures, and his last project ‘Sweet and Short’ and his numerous business ventures that are booming are proof of that success, hands down.

Cassper Nyovest releasing his first ever Kwaito project and going platinum on the same day shook not only the South African hip hop scene but the entire African music industry as we know it because it was unheard of for an African artiste’s album going platinum in a day, actually on the same day it was released prior to him. The magnificent part of it all is that Mufasa did all of that with a Kwaito project which was his first ever project done in Kwaito.

Cassper Nyovest indeed raised the bar in the music industry as know it with his ‘Sweet and Short’ album and is and will continue setting the standards even higher when it comes to selling albums in the shortest time possible.

Currently there’s no African rapper leave alone any artiste of any genre who has an album out that went platinum in a day, I think Cassper Nyovest actually deserves a Guinness World Book of Records for that phenomenal and unbelievable achievement.
