Nadia Nakai had one of the best success stories of 2019 which saw her establish her name in the hip hop world as one of Africa’s top rappers thus far.
Nadia went on to release her debut album dubbed ‘Nadia Naked’ which went on to become one of the best hip hop albums released in 2019 in Africa, not only in South Africa.
It’s safe to say that Nadia Nakai is one of the most prolific, successful and talented rappers South Africa has ever seen.
The rapper who is the only signed artiste in Cassper Nyovest’s ‘Family Tree’ record label and management took to social media and opened up on her record not getting played on major radio stations because of a misunderstanding.
The record in question is ‘Drugs’ which is off the ‘Nadia Naked’ project featuring Tshego.
Answering a fan who doesn’t want to see Nadia Nakai go explicit on the music video for her upcoming music video for ‘Drugs’ Nadia Nakai said that she had trouble having the record played on numerous radio stations because of the word drugs and even resubmitted an edited version of the same record but nothing really changed thus the reason why she decided to do what she wants with the music video which according to many people, has somewhat a gothic feeling to it.
“I had trouble getting the song played a lot of stations had a problem with the word drugs on the song, even took the word out and resubmitted, buut ??♀️ so decided to do what I want with the video… ” she said.
However, the rapper promised that she will have one music video that might be on the same level as ‘Naaa meean’ hit record with another single off the album dubbed ‘Kreatures’.
“I’m hoping Kreatures will be that tho! It’s gonna be the next single…” Nadia Nakai added.
