The talented Elaine is the true definition of hard work pays and rewards in the long run.
The R&B singer and songwriter has accomplished something that a lot of critics would care to disagree isn’t true because it’s unprecedented and surreal in the music industry today.
Elaine’s first-ever project has been certified platinum with the smash hit record ‘You’re the One’ getting 7x platinum-certified. The song was featured on the ‘Elements’ project.
The ‘You’re the One’ hit record was actually one of the most streamed songs on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Joox, and Deezer.
Selling platinum records in South Africa, at least according to RiSA(Recording Industry of South Africa) standards is equivalent to selling 30,000 copies. So mathematically speaking, Elaine sold over 210,000 copies of the ‘You’re the One’ record alone without counting the other songs on the project that are also certified platinum.
‘You’re the One’ single also has over 5 million views on YouTube alone.
What’s amazing about all these is that Elaine released this project independently without any major record label behind her. I mean, that’s amazing and commendable, even for an established artiste to achieve that.
Prior to releasing ‘Elements’, Elaine wasn’t that much known to the public, she was just starting out.
Elaine –who is now signed to her new label, Columbia Records– should be a blueprint of how an upcoming artiste should aim for success in the music industry today.
Taking to social media, Elaine showed gratitude to her fans for enabling her to achieve such an accolade in her career saying, “What a year. Thank y’all for making my entire EP go platinum. You’re the one is 7x platinum & wow, my heart is full,” Elaine wrote on Instagram, adding, “I hope the new year is kinder and brings y’all the biggest blessings. Love y’all”.

If there’s one place Elaine is bound to go to is the stars if not the galaxy. She’s a true artiste!
