South African rappers are popping now and the hip-hop is now one of the top echelon genres in the music industry today and they with it, the wave comes with it and that’s what the co-operate world capitalize on by investing with the rappers’ brand and make a deal that will see their business propel to higher heights and make the two parties involved win at the end of it all.
That being said, quite a few rappers have landed numerous lucrative deals with sneaker companies who want to capitalize on the brand that they command and make sure they push the envelope to make sure they move their products off their shelves since hip-hop’s inception, sneakers has been synonymized by hip-hop, look at the way Run DMC’s collaboration with Adidas Superstar sneakers proved lucrative.
Here are a few of the industry’s rap artistes who have been able to land a deal as ambassadors in the sneakers industry, though we don’t have a Nike ambassador just yet, we have a sure instinctive feeling, the person is going to be revealed soon enough.
Anatii – Puma
Anatii became the face of Puma’s campaign #RunTheStreets that kickstarted earlier this year and he has never been seen wearing anything else other than Puma sneakers and Puma apparel wherever he goes, even in his music videos.
Nasty C – Puma
Nasty C is the go-to guy when it comes to Puma South Africa releasing new merchandise in the market, every single apparel and sneakers Puma puts out, Nasty C has to be a part of it. He is their brand ambassador for the longest time, even though we don’t know how much he was paid for this deal, we sure know that it was lucrative enough to have him wear nothing else than the Puma brand wherever he goes.

AKA – Reebok Classics
AKA received a hefty cheque for a seven-figure deal before signing the deal with Reebok Classics which made it the first deal of its kind, this deal changed the game as we know it. AKA signed the deal and made it official back in mid-2017.

K.O – Asics Tiger
Just a few months back, K.O announced his lucrative partnership deal with Asics Tiger via social media which saw him wear every apparel Asics have and of late he has been motivating people to go buy the Asics apparel with fans loving the Asics sneakers because of the way K.O usually wear them on social media.
