Ndyebo drops an unforgettable single dubbed ‘Ngqangqa Wam’ 84

Johannesburg, South Africa – Singer, songwriter and acoustic guitarist Ndyebo, has been on a quest to bring Traditional African Soul music to the forefront one new song at a time. This is especially true of his latest single, “Ngqangqa Wam,” which he previewed on YouTube just a few days ahead of its official release.

“Ngqangqa Wam” (my sweetheart in isiXhosa) is the second single from Ndyebo and follows hot on the heels of his infectious debut single ‘Ivamna’.

The acoustic guitar driven ‘Ngqangqa Wam’ is a beautiful and hopeful ode to love at its purest form and sees Ndyebo colourfully express in front of the whole world that he has found “the one” he is smitten with as witnessed in one lyric where he confesses , “Ubuhle bakho I bugqibelele” to his significant other which when loosely translated means “your beauty is perfect/ you are flawless”.

In terms of production and approach, Ndyebo uses the “clicks style” delivery throughout the song similar to the one made famous by the legendary Miriam Makeba on her song The Click Song (Qongqothwane) but with a modern-day twist on a Tracy-Chapman-esque acoustic guitar driven soundtrack crafted by frequent collaborator and producer Papy Nsenga.

The single has been well received by major radio stations and is well on its way to becoming another fan favorite and in addition will also be featured as a recurring soundtrack on several episodes of the popular South African television series Isibaya.
