Nasty C awarded the GQ Men of the Year award 2019 69

Nasty C has had a tremendous year thus far which has seen him getting internationally acclaimed spreading his wings on the international horizons by working with internationally acclaimed legendary, R&B record producer, Troy Taylor.

Nasty C also got numerous nominations for several international awards including Best International Act at the BET Hip Hop Awards and MTV EMA’s.

Clearly, Nasty C’s year has been a great one thanks predominantly to his sophomore studio album ‘Strings And Bling’ which has given him international recognition beyond what anyone would have imagine.

GQ South Africa being as patriotic as ever took hosted their inaugural GQ Men of the Year Awards in association with Hennessy to honor and celebrate all South Africans who have made a considerable mark in their respective fields.

“The awards ceremony is a celebration of people who have made a considerable mark in their respective fields. ‘South Africans habitually dominate every field they touch. With that in mind, we thought the time was right to create a new celebration, right here at home, to honour the achievements of the men and women who define our culture today and who propel us forward.” GQ South Africa wrote on social media.

Among the people who were honored at the joyous occasion that was held at The Houghton Hotel, Nasty C was one of the 11 people who were honored that night.

Nasty C was awarded the GQ Men of the Year 2019 Award for being the musician of the year which he was grateful for as he took to social media to thank both the GQ international and GQ South Africa for their consideration of awarding him the first ever award of GQ Men of the Year Award.

Others who were also awarded were; Tristan Du Plessis as the designer of the year, Thebe Magugu as the Breakout Star of the Year, Brent Lindeque as an Influencer of the Year, Thembinkosi Lorch as the Athlete of the Year, Craig Wilkinson as the Humanitarian of the Year, Lady Skollie as the Woman of the Year, Vusi Thembekwayo as the Business Leader of the Year, Siya Kolisi as the Icon of the Year, with John Kani given the Hennessy VSOP Privilege Lifetime Achievement Award and Dr Mashudu Tshifularo given the Editor’s Special Award.
