ICYMI: here are the South African Hip Hop Awards nominees for 2018 90

This year’s South African Hip-Hop Awards will see Cassper Nyovest receive the Milestone Award for filling up FNB Stadium and Kwesta will get an award for accumulatively selling most digital sales for his hit record Spirit with Wale.

This time around, the South African Hip-Hop Awards released a statement breaking it down for us once again how the annual Awards ceremony usually goes down and who usually gets to run it and how the selection process usually goes down as well in a rather elaborate statement that leaves no unanswered questions after going through it. They wrote this on their official website sahiphopawards.com;

The South African Hip Hop Awards (SAHHA) are an annual Hip-Hop award ceremony, run by the Ritual Media Group (RMG). Winners receive a statue that is called the Pyramid. The award ceremony will be held on the 19 December 2018. Contenders are judged on performances and achievements made in the previous year between 15th September the previous year and 15th September the following year. Venue: Lyric Theatre. The ceremony features live performances by some of the nominees.

And then they went further to explain how the board behind it all gets to choose the best of the best winners in different categories allocated to them in specific categories through a three-month selection process

After a three-month selection process, a board of four industry gurus were chosen to fill advisory positions. The role of the advisory board serves to guide the awards in terms of fairness and for the awards to go strength to strength, as these candidates have no hidden agendas in the hip-hop industry.

This year’s South African Hip-Hop Awards will see the Boity going head to head vying for the coveted Best Collabo category for her debut single Wuz Dat which features Nasty C

If anything else makes sense, this year’s nominations clearly does not sense at all because all of the artistes nominated in every category clearly deserves to win and thus it makes it way harder than usual to get to even try to imagine who would win in those different categories in this year’s South African Hip-Hop Awards ceremony as every rapper has put in work this year.
