Former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Charles Soludo has denied being a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Soludo made the comment after the Chairman of the APC in Anambra listed him as a governorship aspirant on the party’s platform.

“I wish to clarify that I am not a member of the APC and cannot therefore contest for its party nomination,” Soludo said via a statement released on Thursday, January 26.

“I have received hundreds of calls, texts and emails on the matter. Because of the pressure, I sought and obtained the phone contacts of the party chairman to ascertain the veracity of the story.

“I wish to clarify that I am not a member of the APC and therefore not seeking its party nomination,” he added.

Soludo contested the 2010 Anambra governorship elections on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but lost to Peter Obi.
