‘Guardian Angel’ real name Audiphaxad Peter is a leading Gospel afro rap/dancehall reggae artiste, Songwriter and Instrumentalist from Kenya- East-Africa. He plays both the guitar and piano. Born in 1989, he has released several chart topping songs that have placed him among major household names on the gospel scene in Kenya.
Some of his popular songs include Nadeka,Amazing Grace, Usikonde, Liwe Liwe and Pendo.
He is from a humble background, having been a former street boy in his native town of Butere and later in Kenya’s capital Nairobi. As a street boy, he found himself in juvenile prison for a month (this was when the government was carrying out an operation to rid the city of street families) and he was later transferred to attend an approved school which shaped a huge part of his life.
While in juvenile prison, he gave his life to Christ and when he got released, he went home to his single mother who used to live in East Africa’s largest slum – Kibera and finished his high school. He entered the music scene while in high school where he became the first Kenyan student to scoop 10 awards in National High School music festivals.
After his secondary education, Guardian Angel’s passion for music grew and he went on to record his first song “Amazing Grace” in 2009 with the help of Kenyan Videographer Jibril Blessing who has been instrumental in his musical career.
The song received major airplay and in 2011, he ventured full time into music and since then has been releasing more songs till present. Over the years Guardian Angel has been involved in live performances ministering to people of different age groups across East-Africa.
Guardian Angel has received several Groove Award nominations over the years and the most recent one was being nominated as the 2017 Groove Awards Male Artiste of the Year.
His major achievements is releasing his debut album in the year 2015 and then later on starting his own music company 7 Heaven under which he mentors different rising artistes including the Wapendwa Duo and Blessing Miles.
Guardian Angel has done several collaborations with other artistes and his versatility in different genres has seen him grow as an artiste, his latest being “Better Man” featuring Weezdom which was released in February 2017.
Guardian Angel describes his music as music of the soul that seeks to encourage people to believe in God and his main fuel for this passion is to do music that is relevant now and many more years to come.
